Has anyone tried the Red Eye stealth desmog kit, ande does it work good?  I looked up the discription and instructions look easy except they discribe a some kind special installation tool not supplied, anyone know what it is.

No couldn't tell you...

I think Redeye provides a great product but I prefer to pull all that crap out of the bike.  I have a guy's bike in the garage right now and he paid 50.00 for that kit and I think it cost him 3.50 for four 14mm freeze plugs, and a few other small things such as a bolt to seal the airbox and to cap the bottom of the heads and that's it.  so for less than 10.00 you can do it with all that stuff out of there and the engine looks better and you don't have to worry about a vacuum leak.

I also went through the carbs and used redeye's carb kit and it has every o-ring you need to overhaul the carbs.  Well worth it.  Also...  Your carbs have a vacuum line that goes from the cutoff valve to the top of the carb (about 3in long) and if you remove that line and squeeze it they are cracked all the way to the outside.  I replaced all those lines as well.

All this is easy work just time consuming.  I will take a few pictures and post what that hose looks like... It will cause you to think twice about not replacing them.

I just did this last week or so. It's your bike and all but I would not go the freeze plug method. IMHO, the two front plug locations are simply too difficult to get a good position/angle on. Plus I've read on this forum of an installation causing some expensive repairs due to cracked heads.

The Redeye kit is great and I highly reccomend it.

All the best,
