Hi,

I am very interested in purchasing a Valkyrie Interstate, but I have been told that I may be too tall to ride the bike comfortably.  I am 6'4" tall.  Anyone out there know of someone that tall riding a Valkyrie?

Cheers,

Dave in Hurst, TX

If I'm not mistaken, I think "Serk" is somewhere around 6' 8" tall. Maybe he will chime in here with information on how he has his valk set up.    Grin

Shouldn't be a problem.  In fact, it's probably one of the best for taller folks.   I'm 6' 2" and find my interstate fits perfect.   I chose it after finding the stock wing to be uncomfortable.  Good luck in your pursuit.

I'm 6'2" with a fairly normal inseam and the Valkyrie Interstate is just fine for me.  Even 2 inches more leg and no more torso wouldn't be a problem.  I do agree on the highway pegs.
There are a different type of highway pegs that I can't remember the brand name on...Lyndel has them on her black long-distance I/S.  Those would be a great option as well.

I'm 6'5" and I love the bike. I am one of only two people in the state of Texas that has forward controls on my bike, as far as I know. Go ahead and make the purchase and enjoy the best bike on the road.

I'd love to see them.
Are they at stock height but out or did you manage to put them up a bit higher too?
At 6'1" the stock controls feel a tad bit cramped...but I don't want to just lower everything...I scrape enough as it is!

Go to www.bigbikethings.com and you can view all thier goods.

They now have forward controlls for the Interstate too. It is defiantly worth the $300.00 that they are ashing for.

The problem with the forward controls on the interstate is that they only move them forward a few inches.  If they had them up near where the standard forward controls are, I'd already have them.  In my opinion, the slight movement isn't worth the money.
There was a fella around here who had modified some, and I believe it would work with the IS pods, but I need to find him again, and see if I can duplicate it.

Sorry I haven't been around more lately, we're moving...

But yeah, I'm 6'7", and have around 85,000 miles on a Valkyrie... I've added a Peg Relocating Kit to mine, it helps a lot for us taller folks: http://tinyurl.com/65oqvz

I've also had a Hartco custom seat made - http://www.hartcoseats.com/

They're one of those places where you tell 'em how tall you are, how fat you are, and how wide your ass is, and they make the seat for you. Mine is about 3 inches taller than stock (And yeah, VERY wide!)

But yeah, I've never sat on a bike that I thought was more comfortable than my Valkyrie...

Are you forsaking Rowlett altogether or just moving to a new neighborhood?  It's been years, you probably don't even remember me.  I used to see you at bike night in Sachse.

Howdy Curtis - Yeah, I remember ya'...

We're staying in Rowlett... Figure it's a nice place to raise a family. We're moving from near Dalrock/66 to near Rowlett Road/Miller... The wife wanted to snag a McMansion while the prices are so low on houses, so...

Hmmm, for some reason I thought you were already over by Rowlett Road.  I'm in the F&J neighborhood off Dalrock and 66 behind Lake Point Elemetary.  I've got a 16 foot trailer and a couple of 24 year olds if you have anything big you need to move.  Shouldn't be a big deal since I'm close.  I'll give you my cel number through your profile.  I get home pretty early every afternoon (about 3:00) and I'm off the first week in Sept. if you're not finished by then.
