Hey Guys!
I don't post here often, but I'm getting really frustrated. I pulled the carbs to clean out the low speed jets. They were pretty gunked up so I'm hoping my idle-low RPM issue is solved. I pulled off the plastic air deflector behind the radiator fan to get a little extra clearance to pull the rack.

The shroud was a bugger to get off and I'm totally lost how to get it back on. I set it out in the sun to soften it up and make it a bit more pliable. Is there some trick to getting that go in? It seems so close, but it's just not fitting in place like it should...? Is it the first piece put on and the bike is built around it?  2funny

It must be, cause I can’t see someone at the factory spending all day putting those things in.

There have been many discussions on that particular POS.  Some have left them out, which I wouldn’t do.  Honda put them there for a reason, whether for heat or dirt or whatever, there is a reason.

I’ve considered buying a second one and cutting both so there’s a 1” overlap, drilling some holes and zip tying them together.

Haven’t done it yet cause I always seem to get them in after tons of swearing, cussing tickedoff tickedoff and pushing, pulling.

It might be easier to pull the radiator?

Just keep trying, you'll get it.

Then there's the flap under the radiator, but that's another story.

Patience. LOTS Of patience.  Also be careful because the edges tend to be kinda REALLY ~!#($!$!#*~@ Sharp.  Next time move the left coil pack, and pull the Left rear engine mount...

That plastic air dam goes in first then you install the carbs.

Like YoungPup says, don't remove the shroud, not necessary. I usually remove both engine hangers as well as the forward coil, the one on the frame on the left side. The carbs do go in/out rather easily, just takes patience the first couple times until you get the hang of it.
