I live by Ft Polk, actually retired there in 81, and just found out they took cable away from the troopies living on base. Seems they dont like them watching the news as it might let them be informed voters for the upcomming election. Seems like it is a page out of the Communist play book. Dont know if its military wide, but I know it stinks. Polk is the Joint Rediness Traning Center for all the military and our Allies. Everybody that gets deployed rotates through here, so it is a very important base. The Troops deserve better than this, they are dedicated and train hard. I know the Commander and he is an ok guy, I think this had to come down from much higher, probably because cable carries Fox News.

Since they haven't been able to get FOX off the air, then just prevent them from having access. Typical of them. I'm sure we'll hear how we're all wrong about this,,,

That brings back memories. I spent my last 8 months in the army there, working at the CCF "Correctional Custody Facility". Those were good times back in the late 70's living in Leesville...hmmmmmmm YUP she was cute...
Thanks for the memories
