I love Planet of the Apes (originals, not Marky Mark and the Monkey Bunch remake) how did I not know about this until tonight?

Now that is some dang fine comic book entertainment. I wonder if the local hole in the wall comic shop can get that for me?

When I write my Eisner award winning comic book about bikers, I want it to have a cool retro vibe Charlton comics/70s Marvel cover like this one. Oh yeah!  cooldude And I want it to have a cool character like "Mike, King of the Bike"
 2funny

My Valk will outrun Vampires and Zombies...not sure about werewolves. They are tricky.

I think my bike still outruns zombies, even on bikes.

I was doing some research a few moments ago and I found a mass/comm dissertation from 1997 which I found interesting. Reading his abstract and portions of his paper (book length or less/online) it looks like he is asserting that the biker image in the media has not changed noticeably since 1947/Hollister.

I emailed him to request a full copy of his paper. I'm interested.  I admit, I haven't been an observer of biker portrayal in the media continuously since 1947, however, I do believe that his conclusion is false. I think that the media's views of bikers has changed since 1947 magazine coverage of Hollister.

Some of his more colorful examples are the comic covers listed in this string of posts. They do, in this small sampling, portray a similar biker image from the 70s to more present. That I will concede. I will also concur that I think that that black jacketed booted hellion image is still being presented.  However, I don't think that is the only image being presented by the modern media.

Maybe it is just me...
thoughts...
has the image of the biker been changed or adapted in media since 1947/Hollister?

Its funny how the media portrays bikers and bikies, always the bad guys. Evil
Im sure that some riders love this image and try to live up to it,  Wink but as for fact???
How many serial killers ride bikes? ???
How many terrorists ride bikes?  ???
How many mass murderers ride bikes?  ???
If Im correct the most common form of transport for these groups is a VAN.... tickedoff

We should all be very careful of van drivers............it could be the vehicle of choice of a killer!!! police
