Who assigns the infamous dark side numbers.....I finally had it after getting only 8K miles out of this last rear tire, a Metzler.  I installed a Falken 205-65-16 today and went for a 50 test drive through the Sacramento River delta levee system.....a few straightaways and some nice curves.  The tire feels really good, it takes a bit more "hand" to initiate a turn, but once started if feels the same as a mc tire.  The tread noise is much less, very stable at freeway speeds....heres hoping for 25-30 K on this tire.  Putting a new mc tire on 2-3 times a year is a pain in the ass!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ran a Goodyear Assurance Comfort Tread 205/60/16 for one season and hated it. Turns out I hate that tire on our car too. Seems to have a really soft side wall which makes the car wallow in wind. Kinda like driving on Jell-O. Maybe I'll return to the darkside when I use up my m/c tire. Sure did look great though..........

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Thanks for the tip on Doc Moose....
It was a pretty straight forward install, cut the nut cages, grind off the remainder, paint the exposed metal.  Have about 3/16 clearance at the swing arm tube.  Used hand tools to remove the Metzler and determined the heavy spot on the rim by balancing on the axel.  Installed the Falkan by hand with the yellow dot at the heavy spot on the rim, added 1/2 oz of weight 180 deg to the heavy spot and she runs smooth as glass as tested to 110.  Did the ritual spline lube with guard dog 70% mixed with a little bit of stalube moly wheel bearing grease.  Started the test drive at 38 psi and that seems to be a good pressure, might modify that after a few hundred more miles?  It is an  'awesome look'.....Shocked)
