Work sucks _Let's ride

West Virgina

« on: April 02, 2012, 05:20:31 PM »

Picked up a 2002 Honda magna 750c this evening , been riding it for an hour or so....yea it is quick and fun . appears to have had a little mishap on the left side ,pipes are scuffed and side cover missing . Plus it has drag bars on it.
Kinda weird after riding nothing but the Valk the last 60,000 miles . A really fun bike though. Already had one guy stop and ask about it....I told him anything on this place is for sale but the valk and the dog  LOL.
     7465 miles on the clock......................

I've got a 98 Magna. I like it, it is quite different from my Valk though. The Magna is kinda boring until you hit 5000 rpm and then its a whole different bike. 5K to 10K is all kinds of fun.

If you replace the side cover make sure the tit that sticks up from the top is seated correctly into the location on the bottom of the seat. Helps keep them from flying off. Alot of guys also drill a hole into the peg that goes into the grommet and safety wire them on, or they use the steel leaders from the old tacklebox. They can still pop off, but they won't disappear on ya.

I always liked Magnas. The relative that purchased my Valk brand new used to have a Super. They sure look cool but can't put any saddlebags on them with the upswept pipes. I feel that Honda kinda cheaped out on the 3rd gen Magnas though. I mean a 25 year old 1st gen has shaft drive and disc brakes and air suspension. Mine has chain drive and a damn drum brake! Not to mention the single disc up front. The Valk will stop much, much better and weighs 200+ pounds more. That being said, I really dig my Magna, that's why it's still in the cave with the Valk...just don't wanna sell it.
