for over a year we've been told by the "main stream" media the only repub that can beat Obama is Romney. now that Romney has inched ever closer to the nomination although not completely sewn up we will start to see the 'polls' and 'news' showing that Romney CAN'T beat Obama.

I can't take credit for the prognostication, Limbaugh has been calling it for at least 6 months.

Romney has spent millions on his campaign, he's bought the best advisors and marketing available.  Seems silly folks would not see through this but, it is what it is.  I have personal doubts that Romney can beat Obama.

Although he had more baggage than the establishment and media could handle, I'd love to see Obama and Gingrich in a debate.  Most likely wouldn't change the minds of those that have already swallowed the kool-aid but, it would be fun.

What you have in Romney is the candidate who can put in the best showing because the rest of the field is so weak. So you can simultaneously say that he's the only candidate who has a realistic shot but that his shot is long at best. I've actually heard a number of talking heads on Fox say that Romney was the only guy with a realistic shot. Are they part of the cabal?

Remember when Bobby Jindal was the heir apparent until he wet his pants on national television in a State of the Union rebuttal? I still like John Huntsman but whatever. We'll get bleached Obama instead.

There's also a very real possibility that Republicans don't WANT to win this election. I've heard more than a few plausible theories that they're essentially conceding this one to focus on 2016 when the Democrats may be in the same position the Republicans find themselves in now.

Also it's worth mentioning that Limbaugh is whacked out on drugs half the time he's speaking (maybe more) and they make you say crazy things. So take what he says with a pillar of salt.

yeah your right he's only correct about 99.6 % of the time but who's counting. Evil

if your hearing repubs say they are conceding the presidency and are going to try and consolidate the house and push for the senate. those are the "ESTABLISHMENT" repubs. they represent the average republican about as much as the democrat party represents the "little people".  most people I talk to will crawl on broken glass to vote for whoever gets the nod, yes even Romnoid.

the push of the media is now to try and demoralize the republican base and most importantly the conservatives, it's not working in my view.

the rest of the field is so weak because they were destroyed by the press, or self destructed in the case of the back spasms of Rick Perry.

I have heard Romney is going to be more conservative then we think, but he will do/say anything to get elected. he is after all a politician Undecided

they all suck period, not a good one to be had same as Obama if not worse.  I can see the next 4 years being not any better, if not worse, than the past 4 years.  Not a bright future no matter what worthless Prez is in there.
