Son Andy and I went to a private Cowboy action range today and shot up 550 rounds of 22's and a little over 100 rounds of my home cast 45acp.

Tested out the wife's PT .22  I just repaired and my 10/22 that I've been doing some trigger work on. Both ran well as did the boys Walther and my 1911.

First time I've shot falling and swinging steel targets, wow what a bunch of fun. Way more fun than paper. Gonna have to build a single stack 1911 when I've got paychecks coming in again and maybe try some cowboy action shooting. Really looks like it would be fun.

We were probably there 90 minutes. I was standing a lot of that time. That the longest time I've spent on my feet since 2/17 which was my first leg surgery. I think I'm getting closer to being me again.  cooldude

Hopefully I'll be returning to work and riding soon.

I've been jonesing for a Ruger Vaquero for some time now. I think that gunslinging is a dying art that needs to come back.

Ever seen Bob Munden?

Sure have, he's old as the hills, still has better than 20/20 eyesight and can shoot at 200 yards with an upside down handgun. Amazing.

Jerry Miculek is another amazing revolver shooter, although he shoots double action revolvers.

We were talking Vaquero's today too. Son Andy was saying he had one brought in to clean because it was accidentally dropped in sand.
