I'm looking for a cabin in the Cherokee or Bryson City area for the nights of June 1 and 2.  It needs to be accessible to motorcycles.

Some of you will appreciate this.  My 78 year old dad use to be an avid rider when he was younger and has numerous scars and road rash still to prove it.  In the past 10 years he has really gone down hill health-wise.  He has a condition (that I can't spell) that causes his bones to deteriorate and he is in constant pain.  When I started riding seriously about 5 years ago, he would talk about always wanting to go to the mountians and ride the Blue Ridge Parkway.  After every trip I would go on, he would want to know all about it and want to see pictures.  You could tell in his voice and in his face that he really wanted to do what I was doing and envied every story.  Well this past year we began planning a motorcycle trip for him to the BRP.  One of my brothers and I decided we would get some of our family and friends together that ride and go up for a couple of days.  We are going to drive my dad up on the Monday-June 1, pulling the bikes.  Ride most of the day Tuesday-June 2 on BRP, and come back Wed-June 3.  I will be pulling my trailer so we can put his crutches in there and he will be riding with me on the Interstate.  He has been like a kid waiting for Santa.

I've looked into some cabins but I'm afraid they won't be accessible for motorcycles.  If you know of any that aren't extremely high in price, let me know.  My email is kendallhadden@yahoo.com or pm me on here.  I'm really not specific on area, just close to the beginning of BRP.  Thanks guys!

I would'nt want to make any recommendation on a cabin because I've never stayed in one in that area. We always just hunt a motel room down if needed. Google " Cherokee Cabins " and hope for the best is the best advice I can give.Hope you make " The Blue / Gray Ride " with us Kendall  cooldude

We stayed here  http://www.koa.com/where/nc/33173/  a few years ago.  We didn't have our Valk, but there were plenty of bikers around.  We had a nice cabin right on the river.

is a nice Motorcycle friendly motel with covered bike parking.  Just a few miles East of the BRP.  The Big Bike Riders annual gathering has stayed there for the last couple of years and as far as I know will be going back this year.

Stoney Creek Motel just over a small mountain from Cherokee in Maggie Valley. In the fall/leave season, they cater to nearly 100% bikes...the bike folks are great and the lady who owns the place is super. She walks about looking at the bikes and enjoys it all....very clean and lots of places to eat within a short walk. A great diner across the street. The motel is on a creek, but on the main st... and very much atmospheric...I have been staying there on the fall run for more years than I want to say...The antique/classic bike museum was (? ) a block away. I heard they may have relocated.....I uaually do not recomend stuff, but this little secret is nice....15 minutes from Cherokee....My daughter now lives in Maggie Valley (lucky her) and drives over the hill to work in Cherokee every day....piece of cake........if you must have a cabin, they have one on the property. We showed up last year without a reservation and she gave us the honeymoon cabin which was the last vacancy. We had a nice time with all the bikers and a Winston-Salem police drill team was there touring the leaves and did a mini show for us on their HD at the motel. The prices are correct...Search them on your PC and give them a call if you want...........YO !!  My wife just found a leather bound pocket binder they gave us.....4494 Soco Rd. Maggie Valley NC. 28751......828-926-1996....1-800-926-1196....I have all that info on the Valk, but I play dumb and let her look....just an idea for ya'll....
