Burger Wars?  Mexican?  Mid-Cities?  West Side?  Thursday?  Weekend (not in conflict with chicken-fired bacon, wrench party or Houston R4K)?  So many options.

Not trying to change plans but here is Willhoite's website in downtown Grapevine. (A long time biker's favorite)

http://www.willhoites.com/

A favorite also:  Hard Eight BBQ in Coppell. (I see they also have one now in Roanoke)

We've done Wilhoites before.  The band starts up and drowns out the meeting. They have meeting rooms upstairs, but the sound from below obliterates conversations.

All I am saying, is give Peace (Burgers) a chance.

Interesting that y'all mentioned Wilhoite's and the band drowning folks out.  The band playing that night features a very good friend of ours.  Had to smile at that one!  Hoping to see lots of Valks at Peaceburger next week...

Interesting that y'all mentioned Wilhoite's and the band drowning folks out.  The band playing that night features a very good friend of ours.  Had to smile at that one!  Hoping to see lots of Valks at Peaceburger next week...

A short history of the DFW VRCC monthly meeting:

Wilhoite's was the meeting place in the Jimmy Curtain (Ten Beers Bears) administration (our first president).   That's where I joined the VRCC, in a meeting room at Wilhoite's.  The meetings started at 7:00, actual meeting had to be finished before 9:00PM (usually 8:30) because the band below would overpower any speakers, conversation, etc.  It did create a definite end to each meeting.  After putting up with that for a year, we moved to Spring Creek BBQ for our meetings. (At this stage of the club's life, we picked one place to have the meetings and it was the same place every month).

Spring Creek was fine until they started opening up our meeting room to other diners while we tried to have a meeting.  This was when we had business type meetings, discussed upcoming rides, treasurer's reports (we used to do 50/50s to put money in the treasury for events, Ride for Kids, seed money for t-shirts, etc), brought in speakers to talk about different things, etc.

Next place was Fuddrucker's at Grapevine Mills.  We had a great room, but some were unhappy that we didn't have one great table as we did at Wilhoite's and Spring Creek BBQ. (the one who complained never came to a meeting afterwards, so it was maybe not a great move to leave Fuddrucker's).  We then moved to Joe's Crab Shack in Grapevine, but we had complaints about the food from some plus the location of Grapevine limited our attendance from the east side of the metromess.

So we started the moving around from place to place, abolished the treasury, reduced the number of officers and now have dinner meetings to visit with each other.  This is how the club evolved and it seems to work for the current membership.

So ends our short history lesson in meetings of the DFW VRCC.

I had an appointment this morning very close to Peace Burger so I looked it up so I could find it Thurs.. It is not visible from William Tate as it is in a shopping strip and frontage faces south. There is the peace sign and "burger" painted above door. The 1228 is also on building.

More pics from tonight's meeting:

OK everyone, boys in the back, girls in the front...c'mon places everyone!

Just missed Jeff pushing Tim's bike backwards so it could be in the picture.

Now pull forward, no back up a little, now come this way...those big bikes are heavy don't you think?

Everyone say "HAHAHA"

We're a pretty good-looking bunch!

Now switch it up...

Driving through Grapevine at night.

...and a short video of us heading home - still learning how to shoot what's behind me
