Here's a quick run down of what I've done. 1. Made a custom radiator cover/grille. 2. Stripped her down for inspection and cleaning. 3. Pulled off the forks and rebuilt them, painted the triple clamps satin black, then reinstalled fork legs. 4. Sold the 97 wheels and checked the swing arm for excessive wear, then painted the rusty swing arm. 5. Checked the "pumpkin" and lubed everthing and installed along a pair of modified 412 shocks. 6. Had a pair of 98 wheels powdercoated satin black, replaced the wheel dampers, then reinstalled them. 7. Installed a SS rear brake line, a SS clutch line, and rebuilt the clutch master cylinder. 8. Modified the exhaust/rear peg mounts. 9. Made a "straight through" exhaust from the OEM system. Sort of like the "glass pack mod" without the glass packs. Using the short truck stacks but going to have the entire system black ceramic coated. 10. Bought a rear fender section and cut it so as to make a very brief rear fender (bobbed) and repaired the main wiring harness. Bought a used rear wiring harness and am modifiying it to plug into the main harness on one end and the "limp dick" tail light on the fender. 11. Repaired the VTX head light, painted it satin black and fitted on the forks. 12. Modified a set of BIG MIKES peg relocators and fitted on the bike with shaft collars and new SS screws to get better foot placement. Using black powder coated Kury pegs also. 13. Did a complete De-smog and used nickels to cover the upper holes. 14. Removed the carb assembly as I need to check their condition, and found original air box damaged. Got a used air box from Pinwall ($10.) and a freind gave me a K&N filter. 15. Polished the intakes and got new o-rings. 16. The seat is now going to be a 2K solo seat.
Any and all fasteners that have been removed were replaced with new SS fasteners. Most of the chrome will either be powder coated satin black or scuffed to reduce the luster.
This bike was in "less than ideal" condition and not worth restoreing. But it is going to be one sinister "Bobber".

It may take awhile.
But my vision is to create a Valkyrie that is in the vein of Excile Cycles. Satin black, minimalist, without chrome, loud and fast.
I do want to thank the VRCC members that have donated parts and helped with welding. It means so much, as it is not my project as much as a "stone soup" project.
