"We're doing what you asked.  We're taxing the rich"

I heard it with my own ears.  After declaring several months ago that NY state will be cutting funds to health care, the Governor spoke at a dinner to honor nurses last week.  He praised nursing as a profession and a people which was really very nice.  Then he stated a few things that got the crowd agreeing with him and applauding here and there.  He then let out the above statment and got a roaring ovation.  Silly people.

Here's how NY taxes it's rich:  It raises the taxes that only rich people pay such as property taxes and sales taxes.  Because we know that only the rich own homes and buy things.  It institutes a surcharge on people who use taxi cabs to pay for the deficit in the transit system, because only the rich people take taxi cabs, right.  It raises bridge and tunnel tolls because only rich people drive from one place to another.  Silly people applauding while they're the ones getting hit the hardest.  Maybe they'll get hit hard enough some day that it'll knock some sence into them.

Genious...they did the same thing to us in NJ...raised the bridge fee to $4 last year and this year it will be $5 to cross...

Guess who is president of the board....Democratic Govenor Rendell...turns out, he signed off that the excess money raised from bridge tolls could be used to fund building in Philly when he was Major of Philly...now get this...he has passed a bill to leagalize gambling in Pa...and then has a casino built on the Delaware River just south of Philly...and also a full time soccer stadium??? soccer??? what???? in Philly??? what??? all funded by excess bridge tolls...they use the old "for bridge repair" story line....what a load of crap...
