Got new tire on frt. Put frt. wheel on. Went trough steps as manual states. Tighten left pinch bolts. tighten axle, calipers on, lower bike, roll bike , pump brakes bk. and forth. Tighten right pinch bolts. Left caliber rubs clicks when roll bike. Pads are about half wore. speedo and spacer right. Whats not right?

Your axle on the left side will not be flush with the fork. Before getting into the tightening sequence you have to make sure the axle is seated completely.

It has happened twice to me. I didn't have to go do a lot to get it right... both times I simply loosened the left pinch bolts and the fork went "toink" and moved outward about a 1/4"... problem solved.

This year, I was very observant of having the axle all the way in (tapped it with a rubber mallet) and all was well, no rubbing.

Good luck.

o.k, left being the speedo side correct? I loosened the pinch bolts and nothing changed. The axle speedo side is not threaded. The axle is maybe a 16 th out of fork. Seems to be pulled in tight.  I'll pull the axle and maybe clean up the end in case a burr or etc. has it out any. But like I said is a finger nail out of fork. Any other ideas. Wheel looks centered, But speedo side caliber is too close. Worn pads wouldn't affect I wouldn't think. Thanx

Following the seating process.  cooldude  Bounce/jounce that front end where it calls for it the service manual sequence. I've had the same problem.

Loosen the pinch bolts (speedo side) again and lightly pull the fork, it should "toink". In fact, Clymer's manual says to do just that.

1/16th is too much. It should be completely flush with the fork.

just loosen the pinch bolts and be sure that the axle is flush with the fork tube.  that all there is to it.

Took the axle out. Sanded the none threaded end. Made sure that end was flush this time. That did the trick. Wouldn't think that little bit not being flush could make that much of a dif. Made a note for next time.  Thanks !!
