the back story; I was two days from my house in the BIG D fort Worth metro plex. of course in all the limited wisdom my dispatcher can muster I was sent to Buckeye AZ (phoenix area) two more days from my house. Thursday eve I got a call from my wifey saying she couldn't sleep the night before and had to to see a doc, the symptoms are high blood pressure and maybe bursitis.  I'm concerned understandibly and ask my ditzy dizpatcher to route me home post haste!

hmmmmm he doesn't even respond to my message, so I send him another and admoish him NOT TO IGNORE THIS ONE!!!!!!! he replies that he is "looking for something" (a swap with another driver)

he looked about 2 nano seconds and focused instead on his big weekend away from work.

I gave my 2 week notice on saturday morning. I'll be looking for local work now.

I got home in time Thursday to take my wife for a follow up visit to the doc, and I swear right there on the exam table she had a small stroke. she lost function of her right hand and it hasn't worked since so another lost night of sleep I got about 3 hours  but she is soo much like an old fashioned gal she doesn't want a big to do made for her.

I had to leave her there I couldn't sleep one more night in that chair or I'd be the next one admitted to the hospital.

looks like she can make a good recovery and possibly get ALL function back in her hand, frankly I'm surprised to hear a doc say something so optomistic cooldude

the docs all said this was the norm for storke patients, but as soon as they examined her they ALL expressed surpise over the strength she has down her right side. her right leg is as strong as her left and so on and so forth. the weakness is ALL located in her right hand from wrist to fingertips.

she has experienced almost identical symptoms as Kevin Sorbo right down to the lump in his neck. we're pretty blessed but she will accept any and all prayers and happy thoughts coming her way.

P.S. I'm having an adult drink and this post may sound abit detached and flowery but I've earned it
.

P.P.S. she told me she was having 'high' blood pressure, when I took her into the doc her blood pressure was like 162/128!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I TOLD HER THAT WAS THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR!!!

On my prayer list, keep up hope. I had a similar stroke 6 months ago, lost function of my left arm and sight in my left eye, also facial on the left side. Thanks to quick treatment have fully recovered from it with no effects from it now. Having to take blood thinners, but beats being the way it was. They can do a lot to correct strokes now.

Thoughts and prayers headed her way.  My mom who was 84 last year had a bad stroke last Feb. Life flighted and in hosp. for a week. The first time I saw her I didn't think she'ld last the night. Fast forward  to this year. The doctors told her she didn't even look like she had a stroke. So keep the faith.
