You can stand toe to toe, arguing in the most vile terms with someone. But, if all both of you do is yell, swear, call each other names, no one will be charged with anything. or follow. However, let party A suddenly take a swing at and hit the other, and then a fight ensues, Party A will be the one charged, no matter who started the argument.
MP Agreed MP... No matter who started the argument or who wins the fight. So far, there is no evidence that Z is "Party A."

The HUGE difference in this case is that the "watchers" engaged the individual, rather than calling the police. This pretty much backs up my previous supposition. If Z's intent was to engage Martin, he would have done so, rather than calling 911.

So far it looks like Z is telling the truth with the bashed head and broke nose and Martin was the aggressor, no matter how young and innocent they made him look.
Why's that? Why can't people get certain simple things through their heads? Anvil I really thought you were smarter than that.

I guess you know he's out on bail, I just hope he's still alive to return to court, you know about the NBP and a bounty?

Not the part about him telling the truth about his injuries (I never really doubted that) but the part about how those injuries indicate that Martin was the aggressor. Again, they mean only that he was losing the fight. Not that he was the victim of aggression.

It all depends on what your perspective and definition of an "aggressor" is ..... if following an individual and calling 911 to make suspicious person reports on the individual is being "the aggressor" then from your perspective... Z was. However, if that isn't the case, and the suspicious person being followed is the one that turns around and is confrontational and attacking the person following the suspicious person, then I believe Martin was. Perspective..... that is what it comes down to, and when it comes to a Judge or Jury, after the information (fact or fiction) is presented, that is still what it comes down to. Anyone can argue who did what and when, but Z and M are the only ones that know what really happened since there doesn't seem to be any witnesses that witnessed the entire episode.

I agree, but I'm speaking specifically to his injuries. I keep hearing (from all kinds of people, not singling anyone out) that Martin must have attacked Zimmerman because of his injuries. My definition of aggressor is quite simply whoever tried to put their hands on the other person first. That is open for debate.

Very well said John. I am curious how it plays out in court provided Z is still alive since there are no witnesses saying who attacked who. With Z carrying I find it hard to be the agressor.

Again, it would seem senseless to start a fist fight when you had already called the police, they were on their way, and you are carrying a weapon. I would have believed he would have brandished his weapon before he would have thrown a punch.
Amazing how the fact that Trayvon made it to his apartment but came back to Zimmerman never makes the media. When z says on the tape "he's running" "I can't see him anymore" "a witness said that Martin had ran up to his apt" then doubled back. He should have stayed home, and bitched about the guy following him on twitter...

If Z can get a fair trial (doubtful), there is no way he could be convicted. Presumptive innocence would preclude any other finding. Of course, that's why he wasn't charged in the first place. Before the trial, I'm sure a witness will "magically" appear that saw Z start the physical altercation.

Even started some in my younger days. Been around quite a few that I wasn't even involved in. When you look back on them you pretty much always say to yourself; "boy, that was stupid". Stupid = senseless. Happens ALLLLL the time. And I think it's cute how some people are already hedging the introduction of a new witness or evidence as a conspiracy.

He looks clearly Hispanic to my eyes Bob.
Funny thing is I think he actually looks alot like me...if I lost about 50-60 lbs. We have the same haircut and goatee. But ok...you guys win...he looks mexican. I said Hispanic, not necessarily Mexican. LOL....I apparently can't tell the difference between "hispanic" and "white", and you want me to be able to tell the discern between mexican, peruvian, panamanian, cuban, venezuelan, guatamalan, etc.??? Like the comedian, Ralphie May says..."Yeah, MEXICAN!!!" LOL!! like Carlos Mencia says, "in Florida I'm peurto Rican, in the southwest I'm mexican" Don't confuse them here in NY. If you mistakenly call a Colombian person a Puerto Rican, you'd be insulting them. Same if it goes the other way around.

This case is just like EVERY OTHER F'ING ISSUE that arises in our wonderfully crumbling country.
People take sides and even after it's been demonstrated that the press and media have manilpulated the pieces to create the story that they wanted you to hear react to, there is still no let up in the fierceness of the spewing hatred.
I loved it when they went after the TEA Party as a racist entity, even though they had no proof at all. Oh, they showed the same one or two signs with racist slogans over and over again, that of course turned out to be leftist plants to specifically incite something. But, still, the media and press didn't back off and even ran additional bogus racial stories to perpetuate the lies.
In this particular case, two major network "news" organizations, two cable "news" organizations, and even the NY Times manipulated the stories, specifically, to perpetuate racism. Why haven't they been fined, or sanctioned, or taken off of the air. They went after Howard Stern for saying the word "penis", but the presentation and perpetuation of racism, that played no part in this, and the tampering of information that they put forth to the country goes unpunished, aaaaaaand the false information is still considered and believed by their readers and viewers. Even after its shown to be false. Can anyone say "global warming"?

If I were a neigbor and a witness to the events, I'd be hesitant to come foward, too. If my story vendicated Zimmerman, I'd be asking for trouble for myself and family. The NBP's are not interested in the facts of the case, only a conviction. I'd be in their way.
Common sense would be, if I was Zimmerman, and I was going to confront a suspicious person, I'd have my gun in hand to do it. Ain't no way one person could have gotten close enough to take me down and pound my head on the concrete. It seems far more likely that Martin "snuck up" to get the advantage.
But, I wasn't there to know for sure.......

The problem is that people get so invested in their manipulated opinion, that they hold on to it for dear life... common sense be cursed. With the police report, witnesses, and evidence as they are, no prosecutor would have touched this case... the phrase "beyond a reasonable doubt" comes to mind... lawyers don't like to lose. I'm afraid this is not going to turn out well for Z. From what I've seen thus far, that would be a shame. Not only for Z, but also for the black eye to our legal system and the further racial divide in our country.

BTW, what's this I hear now about Z having been arrested for an altercation with a cop and something about a domestic violence related restraining order? Does anyone have concrete info on that either way?

Old news... Occurred in 2005, in fact his booking photo from that arrest is the one they were using to splash this case... you know, next to 12 y-o Trayvon's pic. (More media manipulation... showing Z in prison garb and M when he looked sweet and innocent.) In 2005, Zimmerman, then 20, was arrested and charged with “resisting officer with violence” and “battery of law enforcement officer,” both which are third-degree felonies. The charge was reduced to “resisting officer without violence” and then waived when he entered an alcohol education program. Accounts indicate he shoved an officer who was questioning a friend for alleged underage drinking at an Orange County bar. Also, in 2005, Zimmerman’s ex-fiancee, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order alleging domestic violence. Zimmerman counterfiled for a restraining order against Zuazo. The competing claims were resolved with both restraining orders being granted. From what I have read, he is still "dry" since his alcohol rehab.

Sorry edited my post while you were responding. It seems that Z's problems in his younger days were all alchol related. Since rehab, he has had no issues... in fact, was hoping to pursue a career in law enforcement. Guess that dream is dead now.

It didn't work both ways... we were never led to believe that Z didn't have issues in the past. In fact just the opposite. This info has been out for a long time. As I said, they were using his booking photo from the beginning to make him look bad next to M's young, innocent looking pic.

Did I say any exist? I'm just pointing out that not every witness is a false witness. Could be there's no more to this than we know.
In 2005, Zimmerman, then 20, was arrested and charged with “resisting officer with violence” and “battery of law enforcement officer,” both which are third-degree felonies. The charge was reduced to “resisting officer without violence” and then waived when he entered an alcohol education program. From what I have read, he is still "dry" since his alcohol rehab. So it's true? I hadn't heard about it until yesterday. What of the domestic violence restraining order? But it seems as though Z might not be the innocent neighborhood watch volunteer that we've been led to believe he was. Do you see how that works both ways??? Sorry edited my post while you were responding. It seems that Z's problems in his younger days were all alchol related. Since rehab, he has had no issues... in fact, was hoping to pursue a career in law enforcement. Guess that dream is dead now. Well perhaps he's prone to making poor choices? Is being drunk really an excuse for anything? You're making a choice every time you choose to drink and how much. Drink too much and get in a fight with a cop? Well you made a bad one somewhere along the line. That he wanted to be a cop and wound up being a self-appointed neighborhood watchman with a gun is something that may actually work AGAINST him. In fact, it WILL work against him. People will say that since he couldn't actually BE a cop he decided to play one. Now, none of this actually means he's guilty of this particular charge. But it does indicate a potential pattern (just as people have claimed that Treyvon Martin's behavior indicated a pattern).

But he's choosing NOT to drink now, seems he learned that lesson... seven years ago. He wasn't self-appointed to the neighborhood watch. He was in charge of the neighborhood watch in conjunction with his neighbors and the police dept.

You know that for a fact?
Regardless, this is not about alcohol, it's about whether or not he's prone to making poor decisions because if he is then it's a possibility that he made the wrong one here and it led to an unnecessary death. But of course for that one to stick you'd need to charge with some kind of manslaughter, not murder 2. He wasn't self-appointed to the neighborhood watch. He was in charge of the neighborhood watch in conjunction with his neighbors and the police dept.
From everything I've seen the neighborhood watch consisted of pretty much him alone.

A couple of poor decisions at 20 and then none for the next 7 years, hardly establishes a pattern of poor decisions. You didn't make any poor choices in your younger days? Would you want to be judged by them today? I know I made plenty of bad decisions, back in the day... which in no way resemble what I would do or how I act today. Ultimately, what it's about, is who initiated physical contact on that night. If no witness or video comes forward stating or showing that Z did, then he has to be presumed innocent. All the what if's in the world don't mean sh*t (or shouldn't). "What if" or "it could have happened" are just other phrases for reasonable doubt; no prosecutor would go down that path.

All this talk about Zimmermans past brings up a question about Martins past. He was on a 10 day suspension, which is a severe suspension, because he was caught with marijuana paraphernalia, suspected of dealing drugs and he had womens jewlery on him. When questioned he said he found the jewlery.
How/where do you "find" womens jewlery?

Simple. The same place Marcus Cesar "found" his women's jewelry... In the jewelry box on top of Joanne's dresser.

When exactly did Obama comes after Ted Nugent again? Not Obuma himself but the secret service. Why aren't they all over the Black Panthers?

Yeah that's not the Secret Service that handles radical groups like the NBP.
