Fellow members,
A good friend of mine, Phil, who is a member of the Volunteer In Police Services for Grapevine sent me information about a memorial ride on April 28th.
I looked at the route and it covers roads we have been on in the past. If you are interested please read on. If you like challenge coins they will have one for sale at this event and the money will benefit Team Texas and the Grapevine Police association.

On April 28th, Traffic Officers will be resurrecting the Remember the Fallen Heroes memorial motorcycle ride in memory of our fallen brother, Darren Medlin. The ride has paired with Team Texas for Families of Fallen Officers and the Grapevine Police Association. Team Texas works to raise public awareness of fallen officers and their surviving family members. All proceeds from the ride will benefit Team Texas.
Registration for the ride will be at D/FW Honda at 09:00 AM. The ride will leave at 11:00AM for approximately a 1 hour ride, including passing by the crash site where participants can drop a rose at the marker. Riders will arrive at Hooters in Grapevine, where there will be a D.J., auction and other activities. Members of the Traffic Unit would like to extend a warm invitation for you and your family to attend. More information on the ride is available at the web site:
www.rememberthefallen.org We would like to extend our appreciation to Chief Salame, who is allowing Grapevine Traffic to escort the ride to honor one of our own.
The Grapevine Police Association provided the funding for challenge coins to be put into production for the event. The proceeds from these coins will be shared between the Association and Team Texas. These coins are now available for purchase at $15 ea.
