Not saying this is your problem, but I had the same symptoms after installing an inline filter , new fuel line, and Pingle petcock. Drove me crazy trying to figure it out. Turns out the fuel line was just a bit too long after adding the filter. When the line got warm, and fuel draw was heavy, the line would kink restricting the flow. Like a bent up straw and someone sucking too hard. It was sporadic and hard to diagnose. Cut the line very short and the problem was fixed.

Good luck!

It could be a clogged vent line from the gas tank. When this happens try opening the filler cap and see if you get a whoosh as air enters the tank.  The rubber hose that attaches to the tank vent nipple by the petcock may be clogged or kinked.

Ya had the gas tank off recently?

IF so, find the kink in your vent hose and straighten it out.

Sounds like a classic kinked vent line, original post stated this line was checked and no problem was found.. Its nice that some folks insisted it was still the problem,, good..

With a kinked vent line, wouldn't a vacuum be created in the tank and wouldn't that be apparent when opening the gas cap?  Undecided
