Any idea if the parts can still be bought, for mounting the CB under the IS trunk?

I can't find them on the fiche, nor are any parts #'s give on the installation manual on Dag's site.

If you have a set you don't want, maybe PM me? I'm trying to mount the stereo there instead, and if they are cheaper than makeing them up, I might as well buy them, otherwise I'll have to fab something up.

Maybe someone might be willing to measure there's up a little, how thick the steel and the spacers are. Doesn't look to hard.

I just used two pieces of plexiglass and sandwiched the CB between. Bolts through the trunk I think? I will go out and take a look how I did it if you want to do it like that. It has been on since 2001 Never a hicup.

There is a listing in the classifieds right now that has a link to some pictures of the mounts. Not sure if that will help.
Is the stereo the same size as the CB? You might have to make custom mounts anyway. When I get home from work tonight I will look under the trunk on mine and see if I can easily measure them while mounted.

Ok. Here is what I found.

You might already know some of this if you have your trunk off.

The longer brackets with the little step in them are 9 11/16" long, from the bolt holes, center to center. They are about 1/8" thick and 5/8" wide. The little steps are about 1/2 " total outside to outside.  The spacers they they mount to the chrome rails with are 1" tall. It looks like the steps are there to clear the chrome rails toward the back where they taper down.

The u-shaped brackets that hold the CB to the long brackets are 5 1/8" long from the bolt holes, center to center. The u-shape is 1 1/2" deep. And they are 1/8" thick and1/2" wide.

I think you are going to have to modify the measurements though, because the CB is 6" long (not including the wires) x 4 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" thick. But the radio is 5 1/2" long( not inc the wires) x 5 9/16" wide and 1 3/8" thick.

Plus I don't  know how you are going to lengthen the 9 wires that go to the radio!!!

Here are a couple pics.

Thanks for the replys.

I downloaded the IS installation manual from Valkyrie Norway, shows nice pictures of how it is mounted, and what the hardware looks like. Not having a CB, I'm not sure of the size compared to my stereo, but I'm fairly sure that the CB and the IS radio (which I still have from my wrecked IS) are the same size, since it fits under the seat in the same place.

Windjammer, that plexi glass, how thick was it, I take it that it was a square sheet? Might be the easiest, and no rusting. I'm wondering about heat build up on the stereo, but there is a heat sink on the end of it.

Those pictures make more sense, I thought the cross bracket when on top of the radio, not between the 2 supports.

I will take some pictures of mine and send them to you. My CB is original equipment for the IS I bought from another Valker. I have access to plexi and can cut you what you need and send it to ya? I don't think heat would be a problem as it is open all around like a CB sandwich. IF you have your e-mail posted on your profile I will find it. IF not send it to me?
