Anyone have aftermarket bars on their Valk? Just wondering if beach bars or other designs are available and how they look.

I was looking for something a bit different too... I read on Tim Skeltons' site about the variety of bars offered by 'Wild1' ( http://www.wild1inc.com/), and went that route. They make what is called a 'Chubby' bar - A 1 1/4" bar, necked down to 1" where needed (controls & clamp). If you want, the bars are drilled, to facilitate running the wires inside the bars. I chose the WO518RK style (made for the Road King). The reach is slightly lower, a bit wider, and a bit closer to me, than the stock bars. Also, they have a 'blem' section of their site... I purchased a blem (saved some $$$), and they had to point out the blemish, otherwise I never would have found it. Here is my view of the bars... Another look... Just one idea of many you will probably get If you make the switch, post up some pic's for the rest of us to see! Good Luck Black Dog

WDAN,
The Valkyrie uses 1" handlebars, so virtually any 1" bars should work (think HD). If the bars are taller (apehangers, etc.) or wider then you may need to lengthen the switch wiring , throttle cables and hydraulic lines to accommodate the increased highth or width.

Here is a pic of my 1" Bikini Beach bars I installed on my Road Star. Very, very comfortable and looked great! Notice they are flat all way across. They continue to curve wider to end of bars. I ran these with pullback risers. I did have to install longer cables with this setup but it was worth it. So far, I have not seen these on web currently. Pretty sure White Bros made them. I don't remember, for sure, the width (widest Point) but think it was 36".

Never thought I would need the beach bars on old bike and it would be a job to switch bars. Now, I wish I had.

Well I take no credit for the shop job, I had posted this pic a few years ago and a member who I do not recall at this moment did the work, I just saved the pic............... I love it !!! I get alot of digs 'bout them extra pegs but sometimes form has to follow function, I straddle either set, front or rear for a floorboard like experience and it's nice to have the option to move your feet around now and then............. If she were all show and no go they would be the first to go after the Baker Airwings (friggin eyesores) Thanx for the effort anyway ...........nice job !!! Cheers, Judd

Just about any diameter bar will work. Even though they might be larger than OEM 1", nearly every bar I've seen has the center section reduced to 1" for the clamp. Same goes for the area where the controls and grips go....most are downsized to 1". I have 1 1/4" Wild 1 bars on mine and the center and bar ends are all 1".
