Now changed the belts - despite being 14 years old, absolutely no sign of cracking or even wear... (19,000 miles).

Clearly, I didn't need to do this and Honda's service interval looks right to me - these sure are tough things...


Do I regret spending the money?


Nope.

I changed mine at about 10 years and over 120K miles.  And, they looked nearly new.  I bought some new ones a few years earlier and got tired of looking at them on my workbench.

Like so much on the Valk these parts are well engineered, if not over-engineered.  It probably doesn't hurt that 2 belts get to share the work that is often handled by a single belt in many auto engines.
