I'd be happy to show NBC execs my 870s......... from the business end.  These people are scum.

They're unsafe alright, safety off, trigger pressed, 9  X .32 cal lead balls flying unsafely toward the enemy.

This remarkable shotgun has been around for almost half a century, and has become the best-selling shotgun of any type in history, with over ten million made.

With all the product liability specialists out there, wouldn't you think an unsafe 870 would have been a successful lawsuit in a half century?

Yep ... Saw the broadcast.   Evidently, if you look down the barrel and it discharges, you get shot in the face ... Go figure.
What ever happen to treating a gun as if it's loaded and not point it at anything you wouldn't shoot?
I guess I'm getting old.   Lips Sealed

I have a deposit on a KSG1. Not expecting it for at least six months though.

I also have the 590A1 with the bayonet but I'll likely sell it when I get the KSG1.

Check that... IF I ever get the KSG1.

Dangit Jess, now you're guilty of "unfair reporting".

I'm not back to work yet and now I'm wanting to buy another firearm or two.

Of course, I guess I was wanting to before your "gun porn" pics too.

You know how it is with firearms. It's easy to have all you need and impossible to have all you want.  2funny

That's true of many things, esp the illegal, immoral or fattening   Evil    Or bikes.

I'm not working either, and plan to never do it again.  (Ret, on a low drag budget  LOL)

I thought I had all I needed, but the gunmakers keep coming out with new stuff .... dammit. tickedoff

Here's what I'm looking at:

Frye,

Thanks for the info.

I'm the happy owner of an 870.

And you just prompted me to renew my NRA membership.

Cheers...!!!

Isn't every gun unsafe as far as the network news media is concerned ?? With the Model 700 troubles aren't they going to try and find issues with anything with the Remington name ??  At least I do agree with their assessment,,but,, isn't any gun supposed to be dangerous,, I thought that was its job.. Wink

I would love to see NBC charged under the RICO statutes.  Deceptive reporting to destroy a legitimate business, i.e. through fraud.
I think more would have to be proved, though.
However, the gun manufacturers should sue more of the media outlets for attempting to destroy their businesses through deceptive reporting.

The deal is, it is a subterfuge to require all firearms be subject to the oversight of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (run by lefties), something straight out of the Brady Campaign’s playbook for the last 30-odd years. Gun prohibition activists have always wanted the commission to have the power to declare all firearms inherently too unsafe to be legal for sale.  But, like always, they just start with a few firearms to appear reasonable.  Same deal with trying to ban lead in bullets as bad for the environment....... also complete horse poop.

Hoplophobes..... a "mental disturbance characterized by irrational aversion to firearms."

Excellent idea..... and it doesn't even matter if the lawsuits succeed, just use a page out of their own playbook to drive expensive litigation to hurt/punish the (any) leftist company.

The problem with RICO is, it's Federal criminal law, so it would take Holder and his stooges to initiate such prosecution (fat chance).  But NBC could be sued civilly under various theories, like conspiracy to violate my/our civil rights.... which is what it is!!   A class action with every putative gun owner in America as plaintiff.  (and we only want $2K each)   Smiley

the same as motorcycles are unsafe, and chainsaws, small rugs, bathrooms. the list goes on.

NRA- the only way to keep these aholes from running off with our rights. If tou own a gun you should be a member. I never was, so I did the lifetime membership to make up for all the free loading I have done for the past 40 years.

Anytime someone brings up the 2nd Amendment as no longer being relevant , I remind them of the 1946 war for Athens Tenn.

Patrick I just read read about the Athens Tenn "war". I had never heard of this before and found it very interesting. Brave men returning home to be brave men defending there basic rights. WOW! And it can't happen here? I wonder if the fine people in Germany in the 1930 ever thought there country could end up where it did?

Anytime someone brings up the 2nd Amendment as no longer being relevant , I remind them of the 1946 war for Athens Tenn.

The problem with this is that most people who would marginalize/ignore/repeal the 2d Amendment today are the same people who would be supporting the political machine in Athens/TN, not fighting it.

They think the G should be the only ones armed to provide security for everybody and to enforce their will, and don't believe the people could ever know what is best for themselves, let alone use firearms to resist G tyranny or to defend themselves.

That, or they're safety fanatics with a fear of firearms.

You generally cannot change their minds with reason or logic (nor can they change your mind)..... but they are often only a home invasion/murder/rape/carjacking/severe beating or maiming away from becoming 2d amendment supporters.  I cannot think of any event that would make me change my mind about the 2d amendment.

Of course the wealthy pay for their armed security, and we pay for politician's armed security.

I have to provide my own armed security.

Rant over.... sorry.

Yup,
Next .45 will be dangerous. Then .22, an underrated nasty little round.
Then fingerprints to buy ammo. Then knock at the door.
Then the cattle car on a New Mexico siding till the noise stops and the stink starts.
cant happen here.
