I'm trying to load a route into my Zumo 450.  The computer doesn't recognize nor can it find the device and says to  set the interface of the Garmin to "Garmin" or "Host".  By going through the menus of the GPS, I can't find where you can change the interface.  Can anyone help me out?

I have a 550 which should be about the same and my computer recognizes it right away. I don't recall ever having to set up anything in the Zumo. I maybe wrong but the computer should see something on the USB port.

The unit needed a software update.  I got this thing in Jan. and just now need to put a route into it.  I was to the point of throwing it out the window.

I was going to ask the stupid question, but since ya got it figured out, it not important....

Can't believe however that a software update would make it not recognize your unit.   That blows my mind.............

An other thing you might try if you have connection from the Zumo to the computer is go to this site and download webupdater from Garmin and up date the Zumo. I had a few issues with my 550 and I update it and it took care of it.  You have a choice between Mac and PC. Once it starts you click on the things you want to update and the program does the work.
