If the lights light, then it sounds like a flasher problem.. If the lights don't light then you probably have a ground or connection problem.. Maybe too much grease??

Clean out all the grease and relube with a dielectric grease. Ace Hardware sells SuperLube in their automotive section. The factory grease gets hard after several years and the contacts become dirty. Good luck.

Page 19-21 of the manual. Where all the rest of them are, around the battery, behind the water bottle on the, I think, LH side cover. Looks like the 2nd or maybe 3rd in on the front of the battery box.

You can replace with an electronic flasher from auto store. Works as a timer and doesn't care about load, works with any number all type of bulbs.

Mr Bubbles, I checked out the flasher units @ the auto parts but I would not know where to start trying to "adapt" them to existing plug. I found a rePlacment on line for 42. bucks plus shipping. Didn't order yet,,,,,

aint fixed yet !!! Got a new ( used ) flasher from Gordon and after some searching found the right relay. Replaced with new and same result. Cleaned switch and regreased with dielctric grease. Nothing. WIth ignition turned on headlamp, and both blinkers light up. When you switch to blink the desired lamp goes out the other stays on but no blink. Why dont the rear bulbs ( indicators) light up as the front do. I noticed the rear have single elements and the fronts dual. Help !!!

The front signals have running lights on the second elements. The running lights go out when the directional signal is activated. No runnng lights on the rear signals. Have you checked the elements?

After rePlacing the flasher replay with no change I went to blinker switch for the third time and after a very thorough inspection found that the top copper switch selector bar had somehow melted itself into the plastic housing and was not floating like it should have been resulting in a bad, or no connection. A little trim and sanding to contact and it is once again working !looking back I should have know it was the switch because it was there that troubles began. O well hope this helps someone else ! Thnks for your replies !

The turn signal switch along with the starter button are designed for the electrical loads found on a stock bike.
When modifications are made (such as adding loads) without proper preparations, well, that is when bad things start to happen.
Like melting parts within the switches.
Not saying this is the case.
Just want to state the truism.
