I have a small group of great guys I ride with that I originally met when I joined Patriot Guard Riders. Tuesday, we rode from Delray Beach (Florida) to Key West and back Thursday.... perfect weather and saw one Valk going west between Marathon and Key West.

We followed that up with a great ride today ... from Delray, down the turnpike, around the Sawgrass, out the Alley then north on 833, also known as Snake Road. We stopped to top off the tanks at the exit and there were a couple dozen bike of all types. Apparently this is a pretty popular route. We followed 833 north then cut over on CR 832... that's when the fun really began. The guy taking point decided it was time to gallop the ponies. We were running about 100 when we passed two sport bikes going the other direction at the same speed or better... closing speed well in excess of 200... zzzzzzip... then gone out of sight in the rear view.  We were running along about 105-110 which was close to about all my buddy in the lead had on tap and I decided it was time to let The Beast off the leash. Down to 4th, full throttle, six unbaffled pipes roaring as I blow by the lead bike like he's going backwards... 120... 125... 130.. still pulling REALLY strong... 135... then just touch 140 on the speedo and I got hit by a couple of strong gust of wind and decided maybe it'd be better to explore the outer limits on a less windy day. Nonetheless... BIG FUN... and it still amazes me how much this machine loves to haul ass.

In the process, I learned another reason I don't ride a Harley... my buddy that was in the lead most of the way rides a Harley... and at unpredictable times at any speed north of 95 or so it wiggles and wobbles... It scared the crap out of me and I wasn't even the one riding the cursed thing. Of course The Dragon was absolutely rock steady even well north of 100...

All in all a fantastic week for riding... about 750 miles since Tuesday.
