Does anyone know the size of the o-rings for the coolant tubes where they enter the block and the thermostat housing? Can I buy these locally someplace or do I need to order them from HDL or other?

Back when I did the cooling system overhaul on my '97, I ordered the parts from Honda...  They are a bit different than 'O' Rings, as they have a tapered fit...  Narrower on the leading edge.

Just found the parts diagram, and if you are talking about part(s) #11, those are the tapered gaskets.

Just when the highway straightened out for a mile
And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Conform, go crazy, or ride a motorcycle...

As an aside - not really applying for your need:  I have bought a number of assorted parts kits from Harbor Freight - things like assorted zirks, assorted springs, assorted setscrews and assorted O-Rings.  Yeah I know, most of their stuff is junk.  However - most everything you buy nowadays came from China anyways.  It's not like you're going to use them in a critical ap, like on an airplane.  Unless you're working on planes, then never mind.   I have a huge assortment of O-rings from them - oh, maybe 30 sizes, 12 or so in each size, for what, 5 bucks maybe.  I can always find the O-ring I need.  And don't have any reason to think they are any worse than some other source.  Go to their assorted stuff aisle - for 50 bucks or so you can stock up on all the odd little parts that you can never find in the junk drawer.
