It may very well have happened. But invasive species are becoming a big, big problem, hogs in particular. Just ask farmers down south what they think of these things.

There was some flap over the law itself a little while ago.

swine came over with the pilgrims I guess that might 'technically' make them invasive.  it is also true that we need hogs more then they need us, turn any hog out in the wild and they WILL survive on their own.

all that being said, if you keep your hogs in check they are just livestock and you shouldn't be treated as a criminal.
