lately with the bulbs in the pod lights.......the original bulbs that came in them lasted ~ 4-5 yrs, maybe longer.....the last few bulbs I've gotten from Valkyrieblingandmore haven't lasted as long.....I've replaced a couple of bulbs at least....one on the left, and now the one on the right is out.....I'm always careful to wipe any oil off of them and not touch them with my fingers when I replace them....I wonder if they are OEM type bulbs??.....I didn't keep the orginals, so I can't compare them......Big Mike steered me clear of using the higher wattage ones to keep me from damaging the actual lights..... cooldude

It's just a little aggravating taking the pod off to change them out so often...... Sad Sad

I thought maybe someone who only frequents the Tech board might have some more input.......going to check the ground next time I change the bulb out.......

Anyone know another source for the bulb?

Rough duty (heavy duty) bulbs of the same type are available at most auto parts stores.  These bulbs work good and are long lasting.

The correct OEM bulbs are available from the local Honda dealer also. Not too expensive since they last a long time.

Stuff like this is not worth the effort to find a cheap replacement and OEM is an easy route to follow.

Stanley, pick up some latex gloves to use for changing bulbs and dirty work on the Fat Lady.  It will prevent oils getting on the gloves in the first place.  You can also get some alcohol wipes in the packs to wipe the bulb glass off in case you accidentally touch them.

ETA:  Just dawned on me you should be able to pick up 35w H-3 bulbs at a Harley dealership.

I don't think they are 35watt bulbs........Big Mike told me that the higher wattage ones could damage the light fixture......

I have some latex gloves in my shop.......and some alcohol around here somewhere

I got the same lights from big mike.  They are 35W.  55W bulbs burn the reflectors.
