Have sourced these at a very good price but can i get peoples opinions please. I've always been a stickler for Bridgestone on all my bikes but have never used these. Thanks in advance

I gave the G702 a test ride on the back of my bike after reading good recommendations from forum members. I purchased the tire in Sept of last year and have to replace it already...just 8 months (and a few of those months were winter months) later. (I didn't capture the mileage when I put it on the bike but it was about 8k on the tire.) I am not happy with how long it lasted. I kept the tire at 42 PSI throughout its life. I am going back to my Avons. The Avons usually last me about 12 months or 12-15k.
On a positive note...it was a very well behaved tire. Great grip on dry roads and good grip on wet roads.
I am a pretty agressive rider and am pretty hard on my tires. I am ok with replacing them once a year...but at the cost of the things, I can't see doing it more often than that.
JMHO....

I use the Cobras AV71/AV72. Stock Sizes. I ordered a set of Avon Cobras today from DirectLineParts and had them price match from Chaparral Motorsports +$5 off. Final price to my house is $353.76. Should have them Monday.

To answer your question about the G701 and 702s, I've used them for the entire 60k on my scooter and I think that the lower mileage might be due to over-inflation. While many people recommend 42 psi, I've found that the rears should last 10-12k if 36-38 psi is run. Now I ride solo almost all the time, and I find that I run the center out of the tire when at hight pressures. I just changed the tires on my wife's FatBoy and she ran the center out of her Metzlers at highr inflation rates. Just my 2c.

Thanks folks, I'll price the Avons but I'm hard pushed to change from what I know (Bridgestone) Most of my riding is 2 up and all the camping you'd need for a month (blame the wife) but will only be averaging maybe 8k miles a year, then again, with a bike this comfy I might be able to persuade herself to head out to eastern europe or southern Italy for a spin we're already heading for France in 8 weeks time and only have the bike about 4 weeks

Hey wood...My major wear is not in the center. It is just off center on both sides. Most of my turns are not real deep so I usually have a \_/ wear pattern on my tires. If I dig deep into the corners, the ride is nice and smooth.

I noticed on the last set of Bridgestones that the wear was also on the outside, obviously the centre was gone too but was surprised at how much of the outside was used.

It is a replacement tire for the oem on the larger HD's. Same tire minus the Harley Davidson on the sides. Hoser
