I am sure there is a search, just not sure what words to put.  So suggestions as to which make model and location i have an 01 I/S.

(probably if i bought the engine /tranny hole covers i'd have a place, but don't like drilling thru chrome and leaving raw edges.)

I picked up a waterproof one (is sealed where the wires comes out and has a hinged cover) at Wal-Mart.  I used double sided tape and mounted it to the top on the trees...under the fairing.  It is nice and hidden when not in use and fairly protected should I need to use it while riding.  It is pretty easy to get to also.

I already had the battery tender plug connected to the battery so I got this one and just zip tied it to the brake line on the right handle bar.

And here is a recent thread with some more options.

+1 on zip tie to brake line, easy to do and easy to remove.

The Kury chrome one clamps to the handlebar.  That's what I have on my Standard.

If you have an IS, don't you want to put it in your fairing?  I wouldn't know, I've never had a fairing on any bike.

I've mounted this handy little accessory on both my Tourer and Interstate:

http://www.bikebandit.com/emgo-handlebar-mount-cigarette-lighter

It mounts horizontally right beneath the fuel switch and is held firmly in place using one of the existing bolts joining the coil support bracket with the engine hanger.

I use it to light up my favorite cigar or, with the proper USB converter, charge my iPod or iPhone.  Waterproof too!
