Pup,,, There's places here in Texas, where firearms are not just permitted, but encouraged.  There are some "off limit" places of necessity, but unless the business owner posts a specifically worded sign prohibiting CCW, then you're good to go.  If there is such a sign posted, I don't patronize.

It's not just Texas, the machine shop my son works at here in Indiana allows and supports carry on the job, both open and concealed.

Unfortunatly at my work firearms are not permitted on the property, even in your truck in the parking lot.

little side note:
Anybody remember the old "gun racks" in pickups way back when?
ahhhh... the good old days....

Other than under very limited circumstances, you can have a weapon in your vehicle in your employer's parking lot now in Texas:

(If you're aware of this newish law and unfortunately fall under one of the limited provisions, I apologize...)

Of course that law doesn't apply to those employed at Federal Buildings and Installations.... where it's still a no no I believe.

We got the "parking lot" law passed in Indiana too. It took several years of NRA members writing letters but we got it done.

My local city government tried to get around it. They had rules posted in the local paper which said city employees had to register the guns that would be in their vehicles with the city. They also had to tell the city what part of their vehicle their firearm would be in and they had to park in a special "firearms" area.

I sent the article to the NRA's legal arm and my state representatives. The law was changed during the next legislative session so local governments were banned from any such activities.

Let me just mention, the NRA is our oldest and largest civil rights organization and they (we) rock. (The left hates to hear that Grin)

If you think you can't make a difference you're wrong. Chances are, you can.
