Get a BIG tractor battery and a battery charger, stick it on the back seat, wire it in, and run. Pull the headlight fuse during the day to save some juice. Stop and find a plug to charge each day.  (got me back on a Suzuki from the far reaches once, think I ran 2800 miles that way to get home...).

I mean, if ya gotta!

If you have the old alternator off, take it to an auto electric shop and have it rebuilt, that's why they are in busuness.  Hoser

Just find a really good friend with a Valkyrie, go for a ride together. About every hour stop and switch batteries. His will charge while you ride together.

After you get past this PMS -  think about picking up a 2nd bike.  Just something cheaper to put your knees in the breeze when your main ride is down.  I'm so glad I have a Wing too, so one is always running.  But I keep them both running pretty much all the time anyway.  Not to mention the Magna...

I can identify.

Haven't been able to ride since February 16'th. I warmed mine up in the driveway and changed the oil this past week. Just getting in the saddle to back her out of the garage felt good. After the oil was changed and she was back in the garage with the door shut I did get back in the saddle for a minute or two and just sat there. I might'a even made some motor noises but thankfully there were no witnesses.  Grin

That doesn't always work...I have 2 Valks and they're both down...with work demands and other obligations, haven't been able to work on them much...I haven't been in the wind since January...and we've had some awesome riding weather...so I feel your pain, brother!   Cry

I wonder why they didn't want to? There are a couple here that would do it. One place  will rebuild a starter/altenator from a mower to a semi! There is also a Mr. Altenator here which I think is a chain that will do it. If mine should go I hope to have it rebuilt.

Good luck!  Wink
