It's odd we don't hear about this everyday. I think I was taught some of this in high school or jr. high history class. I'll bet it's not taught now though.  Sad

It would be a mistake to confuse anything that happened during Reconstruction with the KKK
from the 1920s. There were plenty of "negroes with guns" in South Carolina, given that the state
was garrisoned almost exclusively by United States Colored Troops at the end of the war, and
suffered under Carpetbag governor Scott's all black militia for years...
