I live in SC and want to buy a .45.  Something along the lines of Springfield arms, Kimber, Para Ordinance, etc.  I can't find one I like locally.  Can you buy a handgun like these online and can you recommend an online site, if you can?

very funny guys I like that.
I would just ask your local guy to order what you want rather then have someone else ship a gun you bought else where to your local dealer so he can transfer it to you. I think you will find any good dealer can get what you want very quickly usually overnight. Grin

It's hard to beat Bud's prices even with an FFL transfer fee and shipping is usually super quick.

Yea it would b cheaper to have a dealer get you one. If you not sure if you will like it try another store outta town or local gun show. I almost bought one last year in SD cause it was alot cheaper then at home. But after all the FFL fees and what not, it would be just the same amount.

Check your local guns laws to be sure.

It would be kind of a long drive, but if you are going to be in the Columbia area, pick up a Carolina Trader. There are not many handguns that are not in there. Face to face sales, with no paperwork.

Also, for used, search here.  Do a face to face, and no paperwork. Cash and carry.  Just be sure your seller is on the up and up.

Bud's is a bit in processing overload, as they indicated to me in email, due to there being more gun sales as of late (election year) and there may be a delay in shipping.  I was pleased with the process at Buds and my FFL is a friend/neighbor that gets plenty of my business and recommendations.

All handguns must go thru an FFL, and depending on the FFL... they may charge for use of their license, so check with them before hand.  Some charge different fees..... so choose your FFL wisely.

You are generally going to pay at least $30 for shipping and another $30 on up (some gun stores will charge $100 in my area) to receive the gun locally.

You can buy online, but needs to be shipped to FFL near you.  I pay my local guy $25 to receive it for me.

I just bought a Dan Wesson Valor from Bud's and my FFL had it in four days.  Buds ships free but insurance is optional which should be about $15.  Buds also has a list of FFLs in your area.  You can find what you want on Guns America or Gun Broker also.  I buy all my guns online.

Yea, I don't really like having to pay for insurance... and think it should be the seller/senders responsibility to insure an item, but so be it I guess...
