What the general opinion on these bags? Should I go ahead and ?....i'm looking at the jumbo strong bags......

Im looking at those same bags.  I have not found a reason not to get them at this time.  They seem to hold the contour of the Valkyrie fender and look nice.  They also have more room.  I have heard someone say they thought they were too wide.  I have yet to see a set in person, which is what I would like to do before I make the decision to order a pair.

I put them on a Triumph Thunderbird 1600 when I had it.  They were great... both in terms of quality and price.

I believe that the jumbo's are two inches wider than the regular strongs. IMHO strongs are the way to go-

Yeah the regular strong bags look good to my eyes. The Jumbos are just too big.

The Jumbos will make your butt look big.   Wink

The Strongs and Quick Release Strongs are the closest in size to the Honda oem's.

I've got the Jumbo's. Valk's a big bike & I think they look better myself. to each their own I guess cooldude

The lines from the side look pretty good.

Maybe it's the paint but they don't look as big on your bike.

I went with the "Strong" bags from Tsukayu. I think with the "Jumbo" bags you will be pushing the limit on cornering clearance. Also, you will have to drill the holes yourself as they are NOT pre-drilled.

I added the patch of silver & maroon pinstripe myself

The last photo shows the mounting brackets (attached to my Hitch Doc)

I've had the jumbo strongs on my standard for over 3 years.  I've had nothing but great comments about the way they look. I bought them because the bike is big and needs big bags.  they made a huge difference in packing for a trip.  I personally love them and have never regreted the decison to buy them.  There are several pictures on their web site on Valkyries with them installed.

The huge Tsuyaku saddle bags are are 11" wide. IMHO, they're just as good as the "CRUISELINERS" that I installed this past week. Angry

NOTE: The Tsuyaku manufacturer warns that their carrying max weight is 10 lbs.  ???

I had them on my Valk and loved their look. Sadly, the bike laid on her side with my leg under the bag!  Cry
Given the pressure of the weight on my leg, I think any hardbag would have been damaged,
especially when you are screamin' your ass off! 2funny

At any rate, I recommend the Tsukayus. But do NOT use the free mounting hardware they give you "free."  Roll Eyes
The mounting kit is strong, but it will promote cracking around the mounting screws and bolts.  Embarrassed
Also, the free kit pushes them further out 'bout one to two inches, adding to the stress and bounce. Shocked

If I had them again, I would go as far as beefing them up by lining the inside wall with sheet-metal on both sides. Wink

All said, I can see that the CRUISELINERS (twice the price) will need the same kind of reinforcement.
Knowing these now, I would have gone back to the Tsuyakus.  angel

In anticipation of stress around the mounting holes I added a 1/4" aluminum backing plate & fender washers on the inside.  Haven't had any problems since I mounted them (30k miles). Also, I think the Hitch Doc adds some stability to the brackets for any bounce/stress issues.
