After my brake parts arrive and I'm back on the road, I believe the carb sync and valve adjust are next.  I believe I can build a sync tool no problem.  What should be done first?  Sync, pilot, or valve adjust?  Bottom line I'm trying to get better fuel economy, AND it seems to be running a little rough.

Carb sync. should be checked after adjusting the valves.

I'd check all the vacuum lines first.
Repair/replace as needed

Check all intake o-rings and tighten all the clamps from the airbox to the carbs.

Then adjust valves when cold, adjust pilots, and finally synccronize the carbs.
The order/sequence is important to proper tuning.
