The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 2nd 2007, the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.
The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.
For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:
January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress: The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5% The Unemployment rate was 4.6% George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
Remember that day... January 3rd, 2007 was the day that BarneyFrank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES! THANK YOU DEMOCRATS (especially Barney) for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment...to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!
(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy).Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did fall!)
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? - OBAMA And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? - OBAMA and the Democrat Congress, especiallyBARNEY!!!!
So when someone tries to blame Bush... REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!" Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel, while they were driving the economy into the ditch.
Budgets do not come from the White House.. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.
In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush, though belatedly, got tough on spending increases.
For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running and to increase government spending until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget.
Andwhere was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period: If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for, and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."
There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!

Preaching to the choir, the problem is, many aren't listening. I don't pretend to understand why they won't listen........... I keep telling them, I guess they think that light at the end of the tunnel is the way out of this self induced failure. Apparently, they are deaf and can't hear that train.

Yep, NAFTA and the NINGA loans were Clinton/Frank/ Dodd.. But, you'll never get a liberal to look at the facts.. I'm just afraid this anti-christ [IMHO]will win a second term.. This clown[IMHO again] has added an additional 6 trillion to our debt and was able to do it in just 3 years..

Just to clarify; ??? ONE GUY'S EXPERIENCE: Boring... I've lived, worked, and advanced my education in the US Mainland since 1971. All on my dime, mind you. Notwithstanding, coming to the mainland had nothing to do w/- my basic needs. Things were good back home. Life was sweet. In fact, I came to the US just to learn the English language and be proficient enough to further my success back home. While still there, I had already obtained my university Bachelor's degree. The idea was to return home to law school in two-years, better prepared to enhance my career success over there. Well; I am 62 now; still learning English; married for 35 years to a US born lady. No, I never became a lawyer and never returned home ... well yes; to bury both my parents. Throughout this journey, I had many jobs, lived in different places across the nation and have made lots of friendships. I've been blessed. I was unemployed for exactly 4 weeks in the past 45 years. MORE OF THE SAME...I have spent many years in California, aggressively stealing American jobs and raising a family! In addition to that, much of my relative success stems from my frugality; always driving a crappy but good running car. Naturally, I've never had a car payment. Yes, I've always maintained our own out-of pocket medical insurance. I still do, as I'll never qualify for medicare or SS; like the wifey does... In my daily life, I thrive on diversity. I enjoy meeting people with a very different experience and outlook than mine... Indeed, "some of my best friends are white..." : :... and much of my family is Black. In a strange way, although I look and I am Latino, inside my soul I gravitate to the Black side of my culture, especially when it comes to music, art, folklore and dark-skinned women... So I am now retired as a "faceless bureaucrat." I am finally indulging in my love for old cars and motorcycles. Especially, my "She Dragon." All worth the wait! Well, there; it's all Valkyrie related! RIDE SAFE "Maybe I had a ‘secret identity’ … but don't we all? A part of ourselves very few people ever get to see. The part we think of as "me". Paxton.....I salute you as a terrific example to everyone else that wants to immigrate to this country. Not by coming here and stomping on the American flag in the middle of the street or by making demands upon the government and taxpayers of this country, but by setting an example of what to do like Paxton here. Now if we could just get you to see the error of your liberal ways and vote republican.

I keep telling them, I guess they think that light at the end of the tunnel is the way out of this self induced failure. Apparently, they are deaf and can't hear that train. You are right on. I think the key to this next vote is going to be getting people who have never voted to get up off their arses and go vote. Get your kids registered, get your neighbors registered, if they have no transportation take them. Get the folks in your church registered to vote, get your co workers ready....and their kids....and their friends. It's mind boggling how many natural born citizens don't go vote. I am a construction worker and it just amazes me how many co workers could care less about the election ....or who wins......I fear for my grandchildrens future. My brother sent me an article the other day about a college professor who just before the last presidential election asked his college senior class who they were voting for.....and 90 percent said Obama. Then since the last election he has talked with all his classes, showing them the way the Democratic Party is ruining this country, the way Obama is ruining this country....etc. Then recently he asked his senior class who they would vote for in the next presidential election and 90 percent said "Obama". he was floored and asked them why? They responded "Because obama has promised to not make them pay back their student loans." you can lead a horse to water.....etc.etc.etc. I fear for my grandchildrens future.
