Remember, don't go racing any Harleys or anything until you're through the breakin period!  Wink

did you compare pricing of this Honda vs. a stihl brand weed trimmer.  Everyone I talked to says stihl is far superior and you could get wide handlebars like this one:

http://www.stihldealer.net/productdetails-dealer-_4jeera-prodid-818-toplvl-16-catid-16-subcat-16-catprods-69.aspx

Way overkill for 99% of jobs, but would be king of the hill just like our Valks.  I got a stihl yardboss roto-tiller 3 years ago and although takes smaller widths than the bigger 500 dollar machines, runs and kicks butt pretty darn good for 329 out the door.

Dang!  And to think that I could have had another Honda.  Well, at least the trimmer matches my chainsaw...Jim Grin

Replace that spool with a worn out c/t. Let the steel cords hang out, last all summer.

Is the Stihl a 4 stroker?   I bought it because a Honda has never let me down.  Not any of the many motorcycles, compressors, generators, pumps or log spliters.  Never have a had to say "Freaking Honda"

I checked the reviews of a few publications on the net and the 40+ customer reviews on the Home Depot web site.  It got a 4.9 out of 5 and the only complaint was the string spool which I'm replacing ASAP.  That's kinda like going darkside.

no, stihl trimmers as far as I know are all 2 cycle mixing oil and gas.  Looked at home depot on the Honda trimmer and seems nice with a nice wide cutting path although seems a couple lbs. heavier if that doesn't bother you then no big deal.  I know stihl products have longer engine life overall than the cheaper gas trimmers and less problems overall but like others say, cannot go wrong with any Honda product 99% of the time.
