Holy Cow!  Shocked

Maybe that dealer should also give away vouchers to buy bullet proof vests for the police department.  That way law enforcement officers can protect themselves from all the fools riding around in their pick up trucks with AK47 assault rifles!

I think he took her to school and she was just looking for a sensational line about giving away AK-47s.

Well...you probably won't find me with an AK47 (which is the weapon of choice for folks like the Taliban), but you may find me with this in my cab...

It was actually a sales incentive for Dodge dealers to give away this 30-30 -- or a TV (buyer's choice) -- with the purchase of a Ram Pickup back in the eighties...

This is my favorite rifle out of my small collection and has only been shot a few times -- by me -- when it was brand new.

On the other hand...

It just seems to me that to give away an AK47 assault rifle in the heart of America as an incentive to buy a pickup truck is about as un-American of an act as you can do.  It sickens me to think how many US solders have been killed by those weapons.  The AK47 represents anti-Americanism to me...just my simple opinion...however misguided.

A weapon, ANY weapon, is a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. In good hands it is a tool for good, in evil hands it is a tool of evil. The AK47 due to it's ubiquity has been used MANY times for BOTH good AND evil. That doesn't make the tool itself good or evil.

One other thing I have to take exception to - The civilian semi-auto rifle we refer to as an AK47 domestically is NOT an assault rifle. The military definition of "assault rifle" stipulates that the weapon MUST be selective fire (I.E. Machine gun). Don't buy into the media spin on terminology. Words matter.

BTW, as far as punching holes in cops. That 30-30 of yours is ballitsitically VERY similar to the 7.62x39 cartridge that the AK47 fires. Just saying...
