Aloha Gang - It's been awhile since I've been on here, but I have a question maybe ya'll can help me with. I have a Two Brothers Racing 6 into 2 system, the canisters however are pretty much on there way out. First, I am running my Dragon with just the headers from the Two Bros system, anyone know of any significant cons on doing that, other than needing to rejet, and probably ending up with a headache if I run for too long? She does sound nice though, and does she roar when I open her up. Second, anyone know of a slip-on that I could possible put in place to muffle her roar just a little bit? I called Two Bros. and I talked to a nice guy and he pointed out a potential slip-on system used for the Honda 919 to make it true dual, but wow is it pricey!!!!

Much Mahalo's for any input you can provide on this subject.

First, Im surprised you dont get hassled for noise infractions......but aside from that it cant be good for the motor to run that way.  I wouldnt do it ever except maybe a test start during some major work.  JC Witney has a few that look like you can make them fit......J&P has one or two as well, but as far as performance....I would think access to a carb tuner expert would be necessary before attempting to mix match your own.  After all that is done you may as well buy a set off one of the vendors that support the VRCC

What kind of a muffler do you want?

Glass pack

regular muffler

Straight pipe.

Glass pack and regular muffler can be gotten at one of the motorcycle supply stores, like J C Whitney or J&P Cycles.

Straight pipe, go to your friendly muffler shack, one that does custom pipes and etc.     Have them fit you with a custom bent pipe that ends up straight out once it is fastened to the header.

NOW, I will not be responsible for any citations you get on the glass pack or the straight pipes.

I have a buddy here in town who built the pipes for our race car, my Chevy Trike,  and I built the crossover on MGM.

Here is the exhaust on MGM, mucho torque on this one.   4" to 3" muffler to 4" turnout, weed burner, or whatever ya wish to call it.    PS, both muffler and tip have been Powder Coated.

Well crapola, this one above hadn't been to the powder coater yet.

Try again.

The brass colored 3" strap is actually a chrome muffler band.  It only looks like that in pictures out of my camera.  It is not too color coordinated.

This is somewhat true. Depending on the length of the primary tubes. Im not sure if they are long enough to not suck back cold air and damage the valves. I think that is why they need to be long enough. I hope someone corrects me if I am wrong. If you dont end up using them, are you interested in getting rid of them? What kind of canisters were on them?

I'll put up a pic later, after I find or take one, and show what was on there. While I am at it, I'll snap one with just the header as I have it now. The end of the header gets past the rider foot peg so it's not terribly short, but a little longer wouldn't hurt either. It does sound awesome though, but I am thinking it probably isn't too healthy to run like that as is being mentioned. I am still looking for something I can put on, whether straight pipe, muffler, just trying to not spend alot to do it. Ultimately I would like to get new exhaust, just can't quite do that yet. I may have to break down and put the stock ones back on, until I find a suitable partner for the headers, they are just so.... quiet!!!!  Wink Thank you everyone for your responses, I do appreciate you taking the time to help educate me.
