I want to thank all current and former Vets for their service and sacrifice.

God Bless the USA...

I hope everyone at least takes a moment to reflect on that.

Have a great weekend all!

We should remember our vets on Memorial Day and honor our military throughout the year.  Our support and acknowledgment of their commitment to the task of protecting this nation is all important to them.  I know, for the troops in my day had nothing but scorn and lies heaped upon them by the media and a good portion of the general population.  Living near Ft. Sill, I get ample opportunity to thank men in the military.  When I happen upon one or two soldiers of any rank who seem to have a few seconds to spare, I will walk up and say something to the effect of, "Young man, I want to thank you for wearing that uniform and for your service to our country."  I have yet to see even one who did not appreciate such a simple statement.  It is such a simple and easy thing to do and it seems to mean a lot coming from complete stranger.  Most say little or nothing other than "Thank you sir", but it is easy to tell that it is a very sincere "Thank you".  Try it sometime.  You will make a person in uniform feel better about them self and I promise you that you will be proud that you made the effort to thank some of those who protect us and are usually far from home and family...JTL

Vietnam war....first hand accounts from every branch of the service....from "grunts" to pilots...and all in between....and I am ashamed that upon returning home from that place, they endured all kinds of abuse, disrespect, and scorn/hate from a good portion of the folks back home...that was a disgrace!!...they should have treated the Vets better, because back then as now, the Service Men and Women were just doing their jobs...the scorn should have been to the pantywaist politicians back home that shouldn't have "tied" their hands and let them finish what they started....Terrible things happened over in Vietnam, but then I'm sure that's the case in ANY war!!!....the media and tv coverage always tends to show mostly the negative things that happened and very little of the good stuff.....

I, for one, appreciate ALL of our Vets no matter where or when they served....they are only human and  can make the same mistakes that any of us do...THANK you for your Service!!!! cooldude.... Smiley

Well said Steamer. That is one of  the main reasons I joined the Patriot Guard Riders. It's a small way of showing my respect and appreciation for the sacrifice made by those men and women who have protected and do protect my freedom and yours.

With my heart felt Thanks.
