We received notice this morning that our friend, shiftr, passed away last evening.  He had apparently been in and out of the hospital for a while and was sent home under hospice care a week or two back.

R.I.P., shftr.  I'll miss your word of wisdom.

Well I hate to hear this...  any idea how old he was?  I saw him in the chat room a few times, but otherwise didn't really know him.

Prayers for him and his family.

Awww...dang it! Shiftr was a free spirit who loved his bikes and his music. I feel honored to have met him and spent time chatting with him. Wingmama, if you're listening, we're so sorry for your loss. Peace and comfort to you and your family.

Rest in Peace Shifter, condolences to Wingmama and family. I had met Shifter at several Pa. reunion rides. On one run he rode directly behind me ,and all I could see was this huge man towering way above the windshield and right on my tail. He sure could ride!   One of the originals,he will be missed, Cry,

RIP ', prayers and condolences to Wingmama  and family.

Met that little lad at a voai rally.   I tought to myself how big is this dude.   I'd sure hate to meet him in a dark alley if he was mad.

Found out later, he was just a teddy bear.

Very sad to hear.  Shftr was a fine fellow.  I miss the rides he used to organize at Ephrata.  I miss meeting up with him and Wingmama for lunch during the PA winters.
We'll miss you big guy.  Blue skies and a tailwind to you.

I have a lost another brother - RIP my friend.  I never got to meet Shftr but spent many a hour in the chat room with him in the old days.  Always wanted to get up there and have a pie from the little Amish Lady with him.

Even wanted to swing through that part of Penn just to meet him face to face when we went up to Maine, but time/weather coming in did not allow it.

Sad news indeed.

RIP BROTHER!

My deepest condolences to WIngmama and family.....

man this sucks,

First chatted with the big guy back in '99 or '00 when the VRCC chat would go into the wee hours on the weekends....great fun
First met him at IZ I in '01 and he became the biggest guy I ever had as a passenger as I gave him a lift from one end of the event to his room
In '02 when I was in York for my co-op with H-D, we were riding together within about an hour after unloading the bike and while in the area he arranged 2 PA Deal's Gap
Ran into him in '04 when Andrea and I were in PA picking Valk number 2, turned Andrea on to Shoo Fly pie
The last time I saw him was not long after we moved to Philly........
You will be missed and to Wingmama, our thoughts are with you

RIP Shftr -  I never met him in person either, but years back, we used to spend countless hours in the old chat room.  Learned about Shoo-fly pie,  all the stories he had about his interactions with his Amish neighbors.   Sorry to hear the news.  Godspeed my friend.

Yep, remember those days well.  He'd be in the room all night... falling asleep occasionally, then wake up with his trademark '... funny... good memories.
