Do you think a couple extra could be added such as; right/ semi-ambi or left/semi-ambi ??
There are probably quite a few that are predominately left or right handed, but, can do some things equally well either way.. I'm one , but, felt I had to answer - right..

Stranger.

I used to be a truck driver but I'm a righty. Left handed people are Satan's children.

bat right, throw left, can also throw right but not for distance or power as good as left.
write left, but can write right, but much slower
consider myself left-handed, tend to use my left more than right.

"Subjects tended to use both hemispheres for tasks which are very fast or very difficult and which require interpretation of a lot of information, such as computer games or driving in heavy traffic or playing sport. "Left-handed people tended to be better at using both sides of the brain" said Dr. Steve Williams, a psychologist. "It's certainly very interesting. It's always been said that left-handers are different from right-handers in that they are less consistent with their left-handedness.""
"Researchers at Australian National University discovered that left-handed people can think quicker when carrying out tasks such as playing computer games or playing sports, as connections between the left and right brain hemispheres are faster in left-handed people and they tend to use the whole brain more easily.

The fast exchange of information in the brain makes left-handers more efficient when facing tasks that require multiple stimuli. The transfer time between the two sides of the brain was measured by assessing reaction times to white dots flashed to the left and right of a fixed cross. "

My mom said one time when asked if I was right or left handed.    She said which ever hand is closer to the food is the hand he uses.

Any of ya remember when the teacher made ya write on the blackboard something so many times for doing something wrong.   Like sticking Jennie's pigtail in the ink bottle.

I'd go to the board, grab 2 pieces of chalk and start writing.    If the teacher didn't see where I wrote it with my right hand she couldn't tell the difference.
Finally she figured out the my left hand writing, was a little tilted to the left.

I'm so far out of practice anymore I can't write with either hand.

I voted ambit, but I'm mostly left handed now.    In the squad car we had to write with our right hand.  That was where the paper pad was stuck to the dashboard.  So being either handed that helped me write down addresses when I took a call.

Never heard the nuns say anything before the ruler hit my hand.
Left handed people have to learn to use thier right because the majority of tools are designed for right handed people. But, we usually do it better anyways!

Performing many tasks like writting, shooting pool, or a gun; I have no problem using either hand.

Now throwing a ball or batting, I'm strictly right handed.  I look like a girl when I try to throw with my left hand.

I'm a lefty and a fencer as well.  We left handers had to grow up in a right handed world and as a result, became ambidextrous.  I eat, write and shoot lefty most of the time.  I can write backwards as fast as I can write forward. (look in a mirror to read)  I bat both hands but I throw right handed.
I play golf right handed.., (taught by a right hander with right clubs... but I have a left handed putter. ???

I fenced for 4 years in high school with left handed Begium foils and sabers.  +1 on a lot of tools and gungrips being right handed configuration.
If I play tennis or ping-pong... I have to remember which hand I should use... Left hand primarily, but can play right handed as well.

I know... I'm pretty messed up... coolsmiley 2funny

I'm primarily left-handed but not 100%. Throwing, eating, writing or most anything else has always been done lefty. But since I'm right-eye-dominant I shoot with my right.
And yes, the world of tools is designed for right-handers. Using common tools with a left hand can sometimes be painful. Try using a typical pair of scissors, for example, and you'll see what I mean.

I've always had the nack for spatial sizes and relations. the ability to figure out about where my front end and rear end stop, usually within inches in my pick up and about a foot in a big rig.

also handy if your trying to fit that one last package into a tight space.

I've spent the majority of my career in and around the control rooms at multiple nuclear power plants in the states.  Every place I go, I find that the percentage of operators that are left handed is far greater than the general public.   I offer no explanation; just an observation...

I'm left handed but shoot right handed, and golf right handed.  It was a bit cumbersome the other day, my left handed frying pan was in the dishwasher and I had to fry my eggs in a right handed pan.
