An acquaintance of mine has a Valkyrie that will die after about a half hour of riding. It will not restart until it sits and cools for a while. We are suspecting something electrical, but would appreciate any advice from someone who has experienced something like this. Thanks

Kink vent line. Try opening the cap when you stock, if there is a vacum then you aren't getting air.

Probably need to rebuild that petcock.  Sounds like the vacuum side of the diaphragm might be leaking.  If it starts to run bad and if he can safely do so, put a finger or something suitable over the weep hole on the bottom of the petocock and see if it continues to run.
