I stopped by Advance Auto Parts yesterday and found Pure One filters on sale for $5.  It sure is ugly but probably the best filter you can buy.

Now that Wal Mart has dropped the Super Tech line I'll be using these instead.  My Wal Mart is now selling regular Purolators, but not the Pure One.

Mine are covered by a polished stainless salt shaker from a restaurant supply house.  The fugly color rim still shows so I spray paint it black.

I also have been using the fugly yellow Pure one Oil Filter. I went to the Purolator site to try to get some info, and found the below paragraph.  Shocked

What's up with this? Undecided

http://www.purolatorautofilters.net/products/pages/powersportsfilters.aspx

What About PureONE
If you're thinking you want to install a PureONE oil filter on your bike, please think again. PureONE oil filters are designed for vehicles, not bikes. Because of PureONE's high efficiency, the motorcycle oil pump may not be able to handle the pressure. The Purolator motorcycle filter line is designed to meet the specific needs of a bike; therefore we highly recommend the use of a Purolator ML filter over a PureONE oil filter.

I use it and like it, When I first tried it I had a KN oil filter on and decided to do a little comparison. So I took off the KN and put on the Pure One without changing the oil. The oil after riding for a hour looked like I had just put it in. When the KN was on the oil although clean had a dark tinge to it that was totally gone with the Pure One. Use them in all my vehicles now.  cooldude
As for the disclaimer at the bottom of the page I will have to say what a bunch of bs. Oil filters do not increase pressure unless they are clogged or restrict more than they should and even then most like the Pure One for the Valk has a pressure relief and its set at 17 psi. Our pumps go well over 6o with no problems at all. I say why buy a car oil filter and pay 5 when you can buy a motorcycle filter for 15?  2funny

I have to agree with Robert.  What BS.  So Purolator is saying that a motorcycle is not a vehicle?  And that motorcycle engines, some of which make nearly 200 HP from only 1000 cc, have weak, inferior oil pumps???

According to the one of the best sites out there on the subject (http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Filters.html#OilFilters) the Purolator ML filters are made in China.  There's lots of other good motorcycle info on that site, too.

Remember all, that you can order these online for pick-up at store and use code A123 to get $20 off a $50 purchase (mix and match to get these great filters for your other vehicles, too).

That's $3 per filter if you get 10. Smiley

F6Dave and Robert are on the same wavelength with my thinking. I'm glad the callsci website was mentioned it probably has more good stuff about oil filters than any other I'm familiar with.
