Mark rode along from Roswell on his ST1300

125 miles to Grits and Groceries in 2hours with one gas stop  Cheesy

I 85 was misty/foggy due to the previous nights torrential rain and morning humidity

Arrived at G&G to find Steamers bike parked up

http://www.gritsandgroceries.com/

Steamer had kindly checked the food oput and on his recommendation I ordered the same breakfast/brunch item from the G&G Saturday menu.

That's a big rooster - couldn't resist it. Smutty English humor.

G&G coffee was some of the best I've tasted in years. It's their own blend.
I generally don't like coffee, tastes burnt.
You help yourself from the setup outside. Honor system.

Roger, Mark

Steamer representing for GA. Write your own caption

In photos some paint looks good and in real life not so good.

THIS WAS GOOD

Red Rooster Breakfast
Battered and Fried Chicken Breast,
with Fried Eggs Smothered in Country Gravy,
served with Grits and a Homemade Biscuit
$9.00

Another rider had

Steak and Eggs
Grilled New York Strip
Steak with Eggs Any Way you Like
And Hollandaise Sauce.
$14.00

I'm not a fan of grits or gravy but my meal made me feel like a true Southerner. It was excellent.

I also had
Apple Fritters ..........................................$4.00

They looked leaden but were light. I passed one off to Mike and fortunately no one else took me up on my offer.  Cheesy

Heidi the co-owner of G&G had been making her own ice-cream using raw milk. She had posted a video of G&G on YOUtube which included the ice cram making.

Well someone told the food Nazis and they arrived with the local police in tow. She had to destroy any ice cream and dispose of 30 gallons of raw mile. Your Fed Govt at work. Pathetic.

As well as having able cooks at G&G the food is good because it's simple food with excellent ingredients prepared well.

I'm over pretentious restaurants / restauranteurs who list all the herbs, spice, ingredients etc and then plop a plate of badly cooked crap in front of you. Who get annoyed if you point out any failings and then wonder why their business drops off.

It's a little blurry, we'll have to go back - maybe detOnater won't get lost this time  2funny

I wish we could have all come together somehow yesterday Mark, it's always
more fun when you're there... that house isn't really something you can find
very easy, its one of those "you can't get there from here" places...
