WEll, I got the rear portion of the rear fender off, fought with the dang electrical connector for about a half an hour and that is finally removed. I thought it was all going to be down hill after that to R&R the tail light socket but that would have been just too easy.... I have the whole tail light assembly removed from the bike and I am trying to figure out how to remove the actual socket from the assembly. I see no screws or fasteners and it doesnt turn. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! It is the first nice day here in  Milwaukee and I want to be out riding instead of scratching my head and scrapping my knuckles. Thanks for the time!

What are you attempting to do?    Need more input.

That socket wasn't designed to be replaced, but that's not saying it can't be done.     You just have to figure out a way of securing the new socket.

So what is wrong with the socket.   If it is the wire end, spring and fiber disk, those can be replaced with ease.     Just cut the wires going into the socket and solder heat shrink a new end in the socket.
