I am about ready to pull the trigger on aftermarket bags for my Blue Standard.  Tsuyaku Jumbo Strongs I believe, but I want to know what I should expect to pay for paint.

Just polling, I know my results will vary... but I'd like a measuring post.

Thanks!

$600 to paint stock interstate bags that had some road rash to repair too. My neighbor did the job. He supplied the paint. Painted it in the stock silver and black pattern with the pinstripe. Very happy with the job and price.

I took my Champion Hard Bags to the local (private) auto body shop.  I believe they charged $250 for the pair, shooting them Black w/clearcoat.

I had my interstate bags painted single color (red) to match. They did some prep work. It cost me just a hair over $200.00 for the pair. I am very pleased with the out come.

$400 for a 2-tone job on I/S bags and trunk I added to my blue/cream standard. Paint was "gifted" from one of my suppliers at the time (2004).

You should shop around and find some Tourer or Interstate saddlebags if possible. Buy one here one there IMO nothing look's better on the Fat Girl. The Shadow Tourer made a few years ago is the same saddlebag as well.I paid $300.00 years ago to have these painted to match. Guy that did mine has made a fine living painting street rods he also painted the Hoppe fairing a year or so later.

Joe... if I had YOUR money... I'd throw mine away!

I had a guy email me due to this post and offer me a set of Valk Tourer bags for $775.  Including the mounts.

I dunno.  I like the way the LOOK, but I like the idea of the 40 liter Jumbo bags too.  Especially with a standard and no other baggage.

Where do you guys get your money?

I ain't got no money...so I went to NAPA and spent about $100 or so in paint and supplies and sprayed them myself...well, actually, my dad sprayed them after I taped them off.

I was going to go with flames,

but chickened out and went simple black and silver like the rest of the bike.

I paid $350.00 for the pair and I supplied the silver from Colorite which was another $100.00. He painted my side covers at the same time.

He carried the two tone with red pinstripe all the way around the back side too.

Paint and supplies have gone up in the last 2 yrs. I would think more in the 600-700 range.
