As I parked the bike the other night I noticed one of the 10x32 bolts coming loose that holds the top steering bridge to the forks.  I could see threads and became very concerned.  I tightened it back up and went to check the other one and it was missing.  Not sure what the hell happened but has anyone else experienced this?  I'm counting my blessings that nothing serious happened to me or the bike while riding around with one loose bolt and one missing bolt!  Looks like some locktite will be used from here on.....

That's a new one to me.  Shocked ???   How long have you had the bike and did you ever have the forks out?  Can't see any reason not to use locking agent there, maybe someone else may, but I've had the forks out of all my bikes, and one many, many times.   Tourqed to the correct amount (50 ft lbs), never has one come loose.

The 2 bottom tree pinch bolts torque to 18 FT/lbs.  The single top tree bolt torques to 25 ft/lbs.

Actually, we're both wrong, but I was closer.  The top pinch bolts are 55 N.M/41 ft Lbs.
You were right on the bottom pinch bolts.

Ha, I was trying to figure out were I got the 50 from.  The illustration picture on page 13-0 of the service manual shows 55n.m / 41 lbf ft, but the list on page 13-2 states 50n.m / 37 lbf ft.  Page 13-34 shows the 55n.m / 41 lbf ft.

I got the 50 from the list earlier, but mixed up the n.m with the lbf ft.

I have owned the bike for just over a year, I replaced the fork seals when I bought the bike and have put 6000 miles on it since then.  I know for a fact that I tightened those bolts enough, unless my wrench needs to be recalibrated.  I'm really surprised that the forks did not move at all, those bottom bolts must be doing all the holding...

I double checked my OEM manual. It was printed in '98 when my tourer was made. It has the values I posted (37 & 18). Maybe Honda changed some values in later editions.
