OEM windshield equivalent

The 98 Standard that I got has a Memphis shield, does a horrible job of creating a decent air pocket. Any opinions on who makes a replacement shield that most closeley follows the lines of the OEM shield. I see lots of opinions that it was an excellent shield.

Clearview makes an excellent replacement for or alternative to the OEM wind screen. However, they sell the shield only; you will need the OEM mounting hardware. Terry

Don't know about the OEM but Rifle makes a good shield. They make an extra wide so you can get a 22" wide, 24 ", I think the others are 26" and 28". Also can get different heights.

Memhis comes in a fats and slim size as well as different heights. Possibly the shield is the wrong size for you. Check out their website.

The OEM shield is the only one that does a good job.

I replaced my OEM with a Clearview. . . . a few years ago. It's been a great windshield. It's much thicker than the OEM and you can get it wider/taller to fit, (Mine is 3" taller, 2 inches wider.) Because of the thickness and material it's built from, you easily can buff any scatches out of it and make it 'new' looking. You can also get a 'vent' in it. I can't tell you how many times that vent has been appricated. I would
guess
the majority of Valks using after-market windscreens are from Memphis AND that means something, eh? I don't want to start an argument - to each their own - but I personnaly have never liked the look of most of the Memphis Shades I've seen. The Clearview looks like (and is) a bigger, better made OEM. That's the "look" I wanted. . .. The people at Clearview will help you out with any issues/concerns you have as well. Foozles correct however; you'll nneed your original mounting hardware. Good luck
